THESE LISTS ARE GUIDELINES ONLY. PLAYERS ARE EXPECTED TO KNOW THEIR RANKINGS. IF YOU WISH TO DISPUTE A RANKING OR ARE NOT RANKED AND SHOULD BE, CONTACT NIGEL USING THE CONTACT US TAB
Players ranked as Intermediate in VNEA are ranked as Masters for WCVNEA and must play in the Masters division.
WCVNEA does not allow drop downs so players must play at their ranking level or higher.
All players have the option of competing in a higher division than they are listed.
It isn't easy to foresee every possible situation that can arise. Therefore, any player who hasn’t played in WCVNEA Championships in the last 3 years, or entries of known Intermediate, Advanced or Masters ability may be placed in a higher Division at the discretion of the Tournament Committee.
These lists are not all-inclusive as the Tournament Committee retains final discretion, in all cases, in the placement of individuals and teams in the various Divisions.
After an individual has been moved up to a higher division, if they do not win any prize money (exception: Mini’s, Scotch Doubles & Sportsman) for the next 2 years, they may have the opportunity of returning to the next lower division (see notes below).
-
Any Player who places 1st or 2nd in their respective singles division must wait a period of 5 years before requesting to be dropped down.
-
Any player listed on a team who places 1st or 2nd in their respective division must wait a period of 3 years before requesting to drop down (exception note a above).
It is the player's responsibility to enter themselves into the appropriate division. Any player playing in the wrong (lower than their ranking) division either singles or teams will be disqualified from play and forfeit all monies won. In team events, the team shall be disqualified from play and forfeit any monies won.
Individuals or teams that finish in the top 10% or 1st and 2nd place (whichever is higher) during the WCVNEA Championship Tournament will be advanced to the next level of play.
